DOS

DOS is microsofts disk operating system.
Booting is what appears when you first start the computer.
DOS is text based.
To communicate with DOS, the screen has a prompt where you enter a command.
Case insensitive mean that you do not have to worry about whether commands are capitalized or not, an example would be RD/S which could also be rd/s. This will delete all files, even subfolders, whether it is capitalized or not.

4 Useful Things to Learn about DOS
Set path = looking for something in a directory
? in a file means : file name stands for any digit or letter
* in a file means : wildcard, any combination of that letter
. = current directory

7 Very Useful DOS commands, explained.
A: = floppy drive
C: = hard drive
DIR = directory
MD = makes directory
CD = change directory
COPY = copies directory
DEL = deletes directory

DOS is organizes disks by file, directory, and disk drive structure.

Three requirements that must be met for a file to be named includes the 8.3 rule.
An example would be hey.bat

In DOS directories are named by using the MD command followed by the name you want it to have in the root directory or path you wish it to be in.
Example : C:\documents and settings\ MD brooke

LOGOS

A LEGO Robot is a customizable toy that is programmable to do certain tasks. You can make it walk, react to sounds, move arms and legs, turn head.

I picked the Krispy Kreme logo :

It uses red which I guess would make me hungry, plus the green with it makes me think of Christmas which makes me happy and want sweet food. I just really love doughnuts.

A logo of myself would consist of a short person with lots of money because that is what I want in life since I do not have a lot now. There would also be a great dane and a big house behind me. I would choose a great dane because it is one of the dogs I want, along with a bulldog and a schnauzer. Then the house is big because I want to have a nice house when I grow up.

I picked this because I love the color green, music, xbox, chocolate, and smiling. It is pretty much what my life including friends.

Gaming

Name : Crazy Monkey Game

Story : The monkeys are going crazy because all of their bananas have been stollen by the Koala bandit Travis. You must fight your way through the jungle full of swaps, quick sand, tigers, and many other creatures to get to the hidden cave of Bandit Travis and unlock the secrets to the Banana Hideaway before the whole civilization goes crazy.

Sprites : Monkeys, use them to fight off enemies and collect special tockens for super powers. Climb trees and swing on branches to reach your destination. Use your nun chucks and karate moves to beat off fellow enemies as well.

Objects : Trees can be used for fast travel. The collectibals of super powers are good and give you a mega health boost as well. Quick sand pits will swallow you whole in a matter of seconds so you must be able to use your rope and team up with friends to rescue you.

Age Range : E, no violence, no cursing, no gore, cartoon humor.

Gaming Console : Computer, cheaper to format and an easier market for younger children. Does not require high end computers. Low budget.

I made this game as so because I want the younger kids of America to have a game they can play without parents having to worry about bad influences.

Games

Internet Based : Bubble Breaker

Sprites/Objects : Bubbles, they are used to build up color combinations against each other by clicking on the direction you wish them to go. You can controll them but they also act as objects as well.

Story : Eliminate all colors from the screen by making color combinations to burst bubbles. I would make it to where the bubbles act as a gate and you must deplete them all to get to your empire which is falling apart because of the evil bubbles.

Gaming Console : Borderlands

Sprites : Your main character depending on which you choose. You control them to use guns and vehicles to beat your enemies. The enemies range from Raiders to Scags (pig like things).

Objects : Cars, mountainr ranges, buildings, and save posts all help you within th game. You use guns and grenades for combat and drive land rovers around for faster travel.

Story : The story takes place in Pandora where several adventurers were lured for an attempt to get rich with its apprent minerals and alien artifacts. After it became obvious the planet was not much to offer many left. You are still stuck on the planet fighting of bandits and the alien creatures to hopefully find the "Vault" which is supposed to be filled with alien artifacts, technology, and wealth.

Alice

Alice is a free program which is used to create simple animations.

If you wanted to download alice you would go to http://www.alice.org/index.php?page=downloads/download_alice

Alice offers many objects. Some themes which include penguins, mummies, tombs, skeletons, christmas trees, highschool objects, students, sports, and building plus many more.

Alice could be used for fun or to make a simple commercial.

Some pros of Alice is that it is free and allows you to create some simple animations using good tutorials.

The cons of Alice is that because it is free, you are limited to a certain amount of objects with limited mobility. It is a simple program and it is not good for making complicated animations.

I made a "Scary Land" which involved a ghost and skeleton which raised a zombie from the dead.

I did enjoy Alice because it was fun to use with what could be done with it.

I would use it in the future for fun, but other than just playing around I could not think of another reason to use it.

Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying is bullying someone over the internet or text based communication. Does not take place in person.

Article link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/7006473.stm

Article Title: Cyberbullying : A Victims Story

This article is about howa girl was bullied by a group of her classmates. Instead of letting it continue she told her dad about it and showed him the conversation. The police got involved and stopped the situation before it got out of hand.

I think that she did a good job with how she handled the situation. I think that she could have said something even sooner though before she was threatened. The police on the other hand should have charged the group for harrasment rather than just letting them get away with a warning.

The bullies got away with a warning. The girl who was bullied is still alive and she is not bothered now by the bullies.

I think that the girl should have stopped the conversation once she knew that she did know know the girl who was IMing her. I think that she could have stopped it short or just have blocked them in the first place.

This applies to the school by giving out a good message to tell your parents when somethign like this happens rather than waiting till the last minute.

Staying Civil Online

5 Rules for Internet etiquette are :

1. Don't say anything you wouldn't say in person
2. Keep in mind anything you post will forever be on the Internet
3. Nothing is a secret and can always be accessed
4. Photoshop is quite popular, so watch what pictures you post
5. Bullying online is a public offence

Staying Civil Online is about how their is an honor system that every person must follow when they access the internet. A few netiquettes for being civil online are as followed :
1. Behave as though you are commmunicating in person
- Act as if you are talking to them in person, I think this is good because if you wouldn't say it to their face, don't say it to them over the internet
2.Remember that your words are open to interpretation
- Jokes, sarcasm, and other humorus attempts can be misunderstood as a hurtful meaning. I think that you should be very careful and make sure that it is clear when you are joking.
3. Do not "shout" online
- typing in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS is shouting and rude, I think that it really does make a difference when in all CAPS
4. Do not "flame" other users
- Flaming is posting insults or derogatory content, ecspecially when it concerns someone else. I think that you should definately watch out for this because it can lead you to great trouble
5. Do not send spam
- Spam is just like junk mail and can be illegal. I think this is something to stay out of because it has not real point and wastes peoples times.
6. Do not distribute Copyrighted Material
- Giving out licensed material that the person did not pay for, this is a huge offense and can lead you to a great deal of charges.
7. Do not be a coward
- Do not conceal your identity, I think this is good because by not doing so you would not act in a manner that would be considered rude.

I think that netiquette is very important because without it the internet would just be a nest for hatred and bullying.
